ITV Documentary: 100 Year Old Drivers
ITV have a new documentary set to air at 8:00pm, Wednesday, 13 August 2014.
Programme makers hit the road with some of Britain’s oldest drivers to discover why and how they still get behind the wheel.
We can learn first-hand from those aged over 100, from those heading towards the milestone age and from their families about their motoring habits.
The documentary also asks whether elderly motorists should be regularly re-tested on their skills. However, as this episode shows, prising car keys from the hands of a senior motorist can be virtually impossible – potentially depriving them of their freedom and independence.
We would love to hear your thoughts on the subject of older drivers. Do you know any?
Age is no barrier to driving and here at RDAC we have a team of Advanced Driving Instructors and Occupational Therapists dedicated to helping elderly drivers maintain their safety behind the wheel. This is done by assessments, often in conjunction with DVLA and medical professionals.
If you would like further information about the assessments offered please contact the Centre for further details.
Sounds like an interesting documentary, will try catch it tonight.
Looking forward to watching this programme tonight EEErrr
