The RDAC is committed to providing quality assessments. In order to do this all of our assessment team are either qualified driving instructors or occupational therapists who have been specially trained for the work they do. They receive ongoing training and now undertake professional qualifications in driving assessments. There is also continuing professional development with regular supervision and attendance on relevant courses.
The centre monitors the quality through both an exit and 6 month survey. The centre itself has to meet stringent accreditation standards laid down by the Driving Mobility.
We are proud to be part of Driving Mobility.
Our independent assessment services are accredited by the national charity Driving Mobility.
Driving Mobility is the umbrella body which oversees 20 member centres across the UK – some of which are wholly charitable organisations whilst others operate within the NHS. Driving Mobility ensures that there are common standards, promotes good practice and offers training and education to all regional centres, whilst working closely with associated national organisations. These include the Department for Transport, Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, Driver and Vehicle Agency (NI), Motability and the Police, along with many other valued stakeholders.
Driving Mobility is privileged to have Baroness Thomas of Winchester as their patron, and is supported by HM Government.
