This equipment is mainly manual wheelchairs, powerchairs and mobility scooters so people with restricted mobility can enjoy independence outdoors. These hire services are low cost or sometimes free to all ages of people looking to access shops and leisure facilities.
Anyone of any age can use local ShopMobility services. ShopMobility is not only for elderly individuals or people with chronic disabilities, it provides support for those restricted by temporarily illness or injury. Modern Mobility Blackburn is located in the heart of Blackburn Town Centre. Our Blackburn mobility shop is located just 200 yards away from Blackburn Bus Station if you are travelling on public transport.
In addition, we have over 30 years of mobility experience between us, so you can be sure your needs will be accommodated for.
We have a wide range of products available. Mobility aids include, mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs, wheelchairs, walking sticks, rise and recline chairs, toilet aids and incontinence pads.

Preston Mobility Centre and the Shopmobility service are available M-F 9-4.30 Sat 10-4.30. The service is entirely staffed by volunteers so please be patient if there is a queue.
The cost is £5 for any part of the day for electric equipment and £2.50 for manual equipment. We currently operate a reward card system so, when you have accumulated 9 stamps, your 10th hire is free.

Modern Mobility is an approved dealer on the Motability Scheme. This means if you are entitled to any of the following disability allowances you can exchange a all of your allowance or part of your allowance for a Mobility scooter or powered wheelchair.
