We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, and forward-thinking DVSA qualified Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) to join our friendly and experienced organisation as a Driving Advisor. RDAC is a charity supporting people with medical conditions and disabilities helping them to regain or maintain their independence.
Location
To be based at Manchester, with an occasional requirement to cover Accrington and Ashton.
Responsible to
Assessment Manager
Contracted hours
Part time, 3 days (22.5 hours) per week

Overview
You will be responsible for the delivery of fitness to drive, adaptation and vehicle access assessments for people with various health problems and disabilities. Working as part of an assessment team, together with an Occupational Therapist, you will follow an assessment structure in order to provide a recommendation to inform the client and external agencies.
Experience
The successful candidate must be a qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructor. Previous experience of working with clients with medical conditions and vehicle adaptations is desired but not essential as an induction period is provided with further training on the job, ongoing supervision, and professional development. There will also be a requirement to complete a professional certificate in Driving Assessment and Outdoor Mobility, which will be funded by the centre, and you will have the provision of study days.

Administration Officer
Who we are
We are a charity supporting people with medical conditions and disabilities helping them to regain or maintain their independence. We conduct assessments offering practical advice on equipment, adaptations, retraining and alternative transport options, enabling people to travel safely and comfortably.
As Administration Officer you will act as the point of contact for our clients, providing administrative support, booking assessments, offering assistance and advice, and dealing with their queries.
The role will involve liaising with clients, and external organisations such as the DVLA. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication and organisation skills and be able to deal with people in a professional manner.
You will work closely with the Assessment Team, Assessment Leads and Management Team to ensure our administrative activities run smoothly on a daily basis.
Main duties
- Using a range of software, including email, spreadsheets, and databases
- Consult with clients to book assessments
- Supporting colleagues
- Providing advice and support to clients and their families regarding the assessment process
- Preparing reports and sending them to clients and external stakeholders
- Responding to information enquiries
- Liaising with the DVLA, NHS and other referrers
- Working alongside all staff to ensure administrative functions are managed correctly and in line with GDPR
Essential experience
- Confident using MS Office (specifically Excel and Word)
- Outstanding customer service and organisation skills
- Able to prioritise own workload
- Problem solving attitude
- Able to work to deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The role will be based at our head office in Meriden, your working hours are Monday-Thursday 8.30am-4.30pm and Friday 8.30am-4pm with the possibility of flexible working hours.
