This is Ireland’s leading ferry company. The crossing operates up to 14 times each week with sailing durations from around 4 hours 1 minute.

Rosslare Pembroke sailing durations and frequency may vary from season to season so we’d advise doing a live check to get the most up to date information.

Irish Ferries:

If you have reduced mobility your booking will be flagged, and the ferry company will try to position your vehicle close to the passenger lift on-board to help with the transfer from the car deck to the upper passenger deck.  If you are travelling as a wheelchair passenger, you need to add “Passenger with Wheelchair” to your booking. The crews will be happy to advise and assist throughout the journey if you contact the reception desk on board.

Guide dogs and assistance dogs

are entitled to free travel and have full access to the passenger decks on all Stena Line routes and vessels.  All guide and assistance dogs must have the necessary paperwork when checking in at the port and must wear the correct harnesses and jackets at all times while travelling.

If you are travelling with a registered assistance dog, it is essential that you notify them at the time of booking and you must carry proof that your animal is an Assistance Dog.

Sunflower lanyard – Hidden Disabilities

If you are a customer with a hidden disability or have a family member with a hidden disability, help is always at hand in our ports or onboard our ships.

Sunflower lanyards

We are pleased to be able to offer you a sunflower lanyard to wear on your journey through our Ports and onboard our ships. Wearing a sunflower lanyard allows our Teams to recognise that you have a hidden disability without you needing to declare it. This allows you to travel independently through the Port and onboard our ships, whilst knowing that if you need any additional support during your journey, any of our Team will be able to support you. Our Teams have been trained to recognise the sunflower lanyard and act accordingly.

How to request a lanyard

If you’re travelling with ourselves in the near future, we’d be happy to post you a lanyard. To allow time to process your request please allow 7 working days when based in Ireland. For those based in the UK, lanyards would need to be collected at the ticket desk in the port terminal.

How to pick up a lanyard

If you are travelling with us sooner than 7 working days, please know that you can pick up a lanyard at our Ticket Desks in the Port Terminal when you arrive at the Port. We will be happy to give you a sunflower lanyard, even if you haven’t requested or need special assistance.

Travel concessions:

 In Britain, members of the disability alliance group Disabled Motoring UK (previously known as Mobilise) receive discounts on Irish Sea routes. Just contact this group directly and they will make the booking for you.
